Standing Order 100.4(w), Duties of the President of the University, provides as follows:
The President is authorized to write off bad debts, provided reserves for that purpose are adequate, or that specific income, or an appropriation is available for that purpose.
By his letter dated January 24, 2008, former President Dynes delegated to me, as Chancellor, this same authority. Effective immediately, the authorities pertaining to the write off of bad debts cited in that letter and above, subject to the availability of reserves, specific income, or an appropriation for that purpose, are hereby redelegated to you in your respective areas of responsibility.
Any further redelegation of this authority shall be in writing with copies to the Chancellor, the General Counsel and Vice President for Legal Affairs, and the Universitywide Policy Office.
