EXECUTIVE VICE CHANCELLOR AND PROVOST A. EUGENE WASHINGTON
Redelegation of Authority – Clinical and Translational Science Institute, San Francisco Campus
Under Standing Order of The Regents 100.4 (dd), the President is authorized to execute on behalf of the Corporation all contracts and other documents necessary in the exercise of the President's duties, including documents to solicit and accept pledges, gifts, and grants. On March 10, 1995, the Chancellors were delegated the authority to solicit and accept extramural grants and contracts for research not exceeding $5,000,000 in direct costs in any one project year (DA 2036).
Pursuant to the President's authority, the University has executed a grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Center for Resarch Resources (NCRR), in the amount of $14,750,687 for a fifty-seven-month period, commencing on September 30, 2006, for the project named above.
In his letter of January 29, 2007 (enclosed), President Dynes delegated to me the authority granted to the President to solicit and accept any amendments, modifications, or renewals subsequent to the initial NIH, NCRR award. I hereby redelegate to you, in your position as Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost of UCSF, this authority provided the general intent and purpose of the program remain unchanged from those originally approved.
This redelegation of authority is effective immediately. Any further redelegation of this authority shall be in writing with copies to me, the Universitywide Policy Office, and the General Counsel and Vice President for Legal Affairs.
